Patricia “Pat” A. (Schoenly) Folk, 74, of Barto, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Pennsburg Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Todd F. Folk.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Y. and Naomi (Riegner) Schoenly.
After graduating from Boyertown High School in 1967, Pat went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1971 and then earned her master's degree in 1974 from Kutztown University. Pat held a 34-year career at the East Penn School District teaching science to 7th and 9th graders. After retiring from her teaching position in 2005, she worked with H&R Block as a tax professional.
In her retirement, Pat greatly enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles play, reading, and working on her family genealogy. A faithful woman, she was a member of Bethany E.C. Church in Clayton, PA where she served as the church secretary and also taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving is her daughter, Rachel Folk; two brothers, Sam Schoenly and wife, Janet and Bruce Schoenly and companion, Debra; three nieces, Hannah Detwiler-Erwin, Kim Farver and Vicky Hendricks; three nephews, , Aaron Detwiler, Travis Schoenly and David Folk; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister, Diane Detwiler.
An evening before visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A second visitation will be held at the funeral home the next morning, July 26th from 10 to 11 with a memorial service to follow.
