Naomi S. (Ruth) Yoder, 99, widow of Charles S. Yoder, of Harleysville and formerly of Green Lane and Breinigsville, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Peter Becker Community.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Norman S. and Ella Mae (Schwager) Ruth.
She worked as a cashier and was part owner of the former Yoder’s Market in Green Lane for over 26 years, retiring in 1974. She loved playing cards and bingo, doing crafts and traveling to Florida in her Airstream Trailer. She was an excellent baker and was famous for her homemade peanut butter and coconut cream eggs.
She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown.
Surviving are her sister, Jane R. Yoder of Harleysville; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Kriebel, Mildred Yoder and Margaret Frick and a brother, William Ruth.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438 with the Rev. Rebecca L. Eisenhart officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 until 11 am Tuesday at Peter Becker Community Chapel prior to the service. Burial is private in Frieden’s Union Cemetery.
