Nancy L. Sacks, 83 of Dalton, NY, formerly of Allentown, PA, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Woxall, PA she was the youngest daughter of the late J. Wright and Carrie (Young) Sacks.
She will be truly missed by her family. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend and caregiver, Freda Hark, with whom she resided, and dear friend, Corrinne Drury and prayer warrior, Donna Seibert. A special thank you to Carol Getty, LPN for all her help and support in Nancy’s care. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Evelyn Paul, Kathyrn Kibblehouse, Marion Horner, Carolyn Slonaker, and a brother, Wright L. Sacks.
She graduated from what is now known as the Upper Perkiomen High School, and Houghton College, Houghton, NY with a degree in Christian Education. She traveled with the Youth in One Accord Revival Team for years. She was employed by numerous colleges including United Wesleyan College, North Hampton Community College, and Moravian College. She sang with the Zion Choral Group for many seasons. She was an active member of the Seibert Evangelical Congregational Church, Allentown, PA, where she taught Sunday School and sang in their choir.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. The funeral service will follow immediately with Reverend Brent M. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Zionsville, PA.
