Milford Paul Beatty, 77, of Fleetwood died Wednesday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. He was the husband of Kathryn C. (Cosgrove) Beatty celebrating 50 years of marriage this past April.
Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Lewis and Catherine (Haines) Beatty.
He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years at various companies before retiring and was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of the Upper Salford Township Planning Commission.
Surviving along with his wife are four children, Paul C. Beatty and wife, Mary Lynn of Barto, Leo C. Beatty and wife, Stacey of Coopersburg, Matthew C. Beatty and wife, Desiree of North Wales and Kathryn, wife of Michael Javorka of Green Lane; a sister, Katherine, wife of Thomas Scheid of Norristown; and 8 grandchildren, PJ, Brendon, Alexis, Thomas, Leann, Elizabeth, Kelci and Colin. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Lola Ault and Helen Beatty and a brother, Lewis Beatty.
A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally with Monsignor Edward J. Coyle officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 to 11:45 am Monday at the church.
