Michael G. Macenka, Sr., 85, of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Paulette J. (Schasney) Macenka celebrating 56 years of marriage in September.
Born in Coaldale, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Pekarik) Macenka.
He worked as a Machinist at Knoll Inc. for 24 years retiring in 1987 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society.
He loved golfing and bowling.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Paulette; son, Michael G. Macenka, Jr. and wife, Janet A. of Coplay; two brothers, Joseph Macenka of Hialeah, FL and Theodore Macenka and wife, Elaine of Hurley, NY and two grandchildren, Matthew Macenka of Kansas City, MO and Meghan Macenka of Coplay.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. next Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Prior to the mass, a viewing will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
