Michael P. Hipszer, 90, widower of Alliene (Christman) Hipszer, formerly of Pennsburg, died October 7, 2011 at Sanatoga Court.
Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Zielinski) Hipszer.
He retired in 1984 as the Assistant Foreman of the Maintenance Department from Superior Tube Company after 43 years of employment.
He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.
He was a member of the Upper Hanover Township Authority for twelve years.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, the Harry’s Yeoman Golf League for 22 years, the Upper Perkiomen Golf League, the Harleysville Senior Citizen Center and he was a former volunteer for the United Way.
Surviving are seven sons, Ray L. Hipszer and wife, Elizabeth of Barto, Michael P. Hipszer, Jr., and wife, Kathy of Shillington, Neil T. Hipszer and wife, Barbara of Stowe, Glenn R. Hipszer and wife, Janet of Pennsburg, Jan S. Hipszer and wife, Melanie of Anchorage, Alaska, Dana E. Hipszer and wife, Dyan of Pennsburg and Stephen A. Hipszer and wife, Cindy of Hummelstown; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Thomas Hipszer and a sister, Olga Shearer.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the church.
