Michael J. “Bit” Bittenbender, 53, of Sigmund Road, Zionsville, PA died on Friday, September 25, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospice Center - 17th & Chew, Salisbury Township, PA.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was a son of Phyllis (Brey) Bittenbender of Pennsburg and the late Carl H. Bittenbender.
He was a Project Superintendent at Norwood Company in Malvern and also worked at Irwin & Leighton in King of Prussia; Rizzetto Construction in Schnecksville and Franklin Skepton in Pennsburg.
He was a dedicated Dad and mentor to his son, was an avid outdoorsman and belonged to the NRA and the Hereford Gun Club. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing and had been a baseball coach for Upper Perkiomen Valley Midget Baseball League.
Surviving along with his mother are a son, E. Kohl Bittenbender, at home; a sister, Carol L. Eberts of Northampton, PA and 2 brothers, Chris J. Bittenbender and his wife, Lisa of East Greenville and Jeffrey C. Bittenbender of Perkiomenville.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. William A. Fluck officiating. Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to his son, Kohl Bittenbender, 6872 Sigmund Road, Zionsville PA 18092 for his college fund.
