Merrill M. Myers, 80, of Red Hill, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Phoebe Richland in Richlandtown, PA. He was the loving husband of Elaine (Freed) Myers, sharing 30 years of marriage together.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Abraham and Beatrice (Miller) Myers.
Merrill was employed in the HVAC industry for many years and later went on to be owner of Myers Mechanical and co-owner of Omni Mechanical. Later in his career he acted as co-founder of Myco Mechanical in Telford with his son Brian Myers before retiring.
In his younger years he loved playing ice hockey and spent hours on the fields coaching his children’s sports. He was involved in the Lower Salford Youth Ice Hockey Association. His passion for ice hockey continued on as a referee.
He was an avid sports fan and outdoorsmen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Nascar racing. Merrill spent many years working for Good Year Tire where he shared his passion for cooking with the racing crews. He was a member of the North Penn Rifle and Pistol Club. He spent years volunteering in local fire companies throughout his life.
Merrill’s number one priority in life was his family. He also treasured the lifelong friendships he built. Merrill was known for his smile that would light up any room.
Along with his wife he is survived by three children: Karen Young and husband, Edward, Brian Myers and wife, Judy, and Tracy Voce and husband, Edward; two stepchildren, Ivan Gehman and wife, Connie, and Cheryl Dickensheets and husband, Dave. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son Kevin Myers and two siblings, Marilyn Miller and Marvin Myers.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday February 27, 2022, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home 222 Washington St., East Greenville 18041. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11 AM to 12:45 PM prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed for those that cannot attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to St. Luke’s Hospice at 2455 Black River Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
