Marian G. (Wampole) Schwoyer, 95, formerly of Red Hill, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Frederick Living. She was the loving wife of Harvey A. Schwoyer for 62 years before his passing in 2008.
She was born in Pennsburg on March 29, 1924 to the late Francis and Ella (Miller) Wampole.
Marian was 1941 graduate of Pennsburg High School and in her early days worked in the claims department at Harleysville Insurance. She then went on to become an office manager for Forrest J. Henry Insurance and later for Lechner & Stuaffer Inc. in Pennsburg for many years before retiring.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg where she served as President and Secretary of Church Council. Marian was a Girl Scout leader after high school and was active in the American Legion Post 184 Ladies Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Golden Age Club, the Senior Citizens Center and the Business and Professional Women organization serving as a President from from 1959-1961. She also loved to travel and did so quite extensively with her husband, Harvey.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda, wife of Robert Reed of Red Hill; three grandchildren: Debra Long; Jennifer, wife of Matthew Duka; and Robert Reed, Jr. and wife, Tara; eight great-grandchildren: Amanda, wife of Matt; Shae; Alyssa; Bo; Zachary; Malachi; Nathan; and Abigail; and two brothers: Ronald and Donald Wampole.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by three siblings: George and Francis Wampole and Catherine Ritter; and a great-grandson: Ezra.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 31st at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main Street, East Greenville, PA 18073 with Rev. Tina Mackie officiating.
