Margaret A. Sabo, 92, of Pennsburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Krozier) Sabo.
She was a women’s fashion designer and worked at Stephanie’s Bridal Shop in Pennsburg, as well as Quakertown National Bank, until her retirement.
Margaret attended New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. Much of her later life was devoted to collecting antiques and rescuing abandoned animals. She loved being with her devoted friends and beloved pets.
Surviving is her companion Frank Papez of Deland, Florida, her nephew John C. Sabo, Jr., as well as many great nieces and nephews, Melanie Sabo Campbell, John C. Sabo III, Christopher J. Sabo, and Jaclyn M. Sabo; Brian, Conor, and Adele Campbell; and Gabriella and James Sabo; and her adopted family Hannah Peterwas, Joe Brown, and their families. Along with her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her son John “Jackie” Strelecki and a brother John Sabo, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041, with Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, April 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and also Wednesday morning, prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
