Margaret Peterson

April 15, 1916 — November 2, 2016

Margaret M. (Lizun) Peterson, 100, widower of Harry L. Peterson, Sr., formerly a resident of Green Lane for 60 years, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Phoebe Richland Health Center.

Born on the family farm in Vera Cruz, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Ariela) Lizun.

Margaret worked as a seamstress and dressmaker at the former Dauts Dress Shop, Red Hill Pants Factory and Schwartz Christening Dresses.

She was a longtime member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and loved gardening, crocheting, making quilts, cooking, reading, visiting friends and family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors: Children, Harry L. Peterson, Jr., Janet E., wife of Christopher Weikel, Pearl M., wife of Timothy Curry and Bill Peterson; grandchildren, Dawn Rogers, Lee Peterson, Scott and Andy Curry and Christian and Robert Weikel; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Miriam, Lydia, Naomi, Parker, Johannes, Elise and Stephanie. She is predeceased by a daughter, Fern Fay Berstler, and siblings, John Lizun, Jr., Paul Lizun, Sophie Burke, Verna Kernick, Freida Paules, Frances Peterson and Mary Mirth.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Pastor Cydney Van Dyke officiating. Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
