M. Margaret (Mathis) Bowen, 94, widow of Roger H. Bowen, of Pottstown and formerly of Limerick and Millsboro, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Manor Care in Pottstown.
Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Adelbert M. and Anna Rose (Mott) Mathis.
She worked as a waitress and hostess, cashier for 18 years at the Limerick Diner.
Margaret was a member of Shepherd of the Hills in Bechtelsville and Oak Orchid Community Church in Millsboro, DE, where she was part of the Woman’s Bible Study.
Surviving are five children, Roger Bowen and wife, Margaret of Pottstown; Robert Bowen and wife, Patricia of Millsboro, DE; Patricia Brightbill of Pottstown, PA; Judi, wife of Ronald Denn of Long Neck, DE and Jean Levengood of Pottstown; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Ralph, Merrell, and Ruth Anna Mathis and a grandson,
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at The Lighthouse, 527 Glasgow Street, Stowe, PA 19464 with Rev. Mike Bowen officiating.
