Louis F. “Lou” Morasco, 83, of Quakertown, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carol M. (Duchesne) Morasco, sharing 47 years of marriage together.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Louis and Jean (Cerino) Morasco.
Lou was a proud fireman for the Philadelphia Fire Department for 7 years, serving with the men and women of Engine Company 45 & Ladder Company 14 at 26th and York Street. Most recently he was a building inspector for Abington, Warminster, and Edgmont Townships and a census taker.
Lou also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1957, as a jet engine mechanic.
He was a member of St. Isadore’s R.C. Church in Quakertown.
He loved to garden, hunt, fly-fish and tie flies, spending time with his 3 grandchildren, and his 5 dogs. He also loved to cook dinner every-night.
Surviving along with his wife, are his two children, Jason Morasco and wife, Rebekkah of Quakertown, and Missy Morasco-Housel and husband, David of Red Hill; three grandsons, Jason Morasco Jr., Parker Morasco and David Housel, III; a sister, Lois Morasco; and his niece, Denise DiTeodoro and her son, Nicholas.
He is predeceased by siblings, Barbara Sassi, Jean Melzer and Frank Morasco.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:45 PM at the funeral home before the service. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
