Lou D. Hein, of Pennsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was 80 years old. He was the loving husband of the late Sally J. (Bittenbender) Hein, sharing 50 years of marriage together before her passing in 2017.
Born in Emmaus, Lou was one of ten children born to the late Albert and Elda (Wink) Hein.
Lou was employed at Hatfield Packing working on the line as a gambler for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of Huff’s Union Church and a lifetime member of the East Greenville Fire Company. He was also one of the starting founders of Ridge Runners Gun Club in Weatherly, PA. Lou found in enjoyment in snowmobiling, auto racing, hunting, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Surviving are two children, Scot P.A. Hein of Pennsburg and Nicole E., wife of Jeff Kuestner of East Greenville; two grandchildren, Alissa and Mason; four siblings, Lester Hein and wife, Harriet of Palm, his twin, Lois Baumann of Emmaus, Sterling Hein and wife, Diane of Allentown, and Nancy, wife of Richard Snyder of Bethlehem. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by siblings, Stanley Hein, Esther Schadler, Robert Hein, Gladys Moats and Joyce Klotz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Burial follows in Huff’s Union Cemetery.
