Lillian M. (Hancock) Quirk, 87, of Harleysville, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Grand View Hospital. She was the loving wife of Paul F. Quirk, Sr. sharing 69 years of marriage together.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Alexander) Hancock.
She attended Ambler High School and was a 1949 graduate of Whitpain High School. Lillian was a wonderful wife and mother and spent her time raising her family. However, she did hold many odd jobs throughout her life, one being a supervisor at the former Jamesway in Harleysville. Lillian enjoyed crafting, gardening and loved spending time at the beach. She also loved being playful, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
She was a former member of Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd Valley and in her later years attended
Tabor United Methodist Church in Woxall.
Surviving along with her husband, are her seven children, Paul Quirk, Jr. and wife Carol of Bowmansville, Robert Quirk of Douglassville, Carol and husband Parker Peacock of Sumneytown, Rich and wife Heather of Boyertown, Karl Quirk of Hartsville, Janice and husband Michael Godshall of Harleysville and Jennifer Shaffer of Gilbertsville; 18 grandchildren, Colleen, Sherri, Melissa, Emily, Ryan, Nicole, Jacqueline, Sean, Kelsie, Colin, Cara, Eleanor, Nate, Caleb, Hannah, Kyle, Matthew and Lydia; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers, Edward Hancock III and David T. Hancock.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Tabor United Methodist Church, 2209 Hendricks Station Rd, Woxall, PA 18979 with Pastor Bob Amundsen officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville.
