Lillian A. Hess

September 23, 1930 — March 16, 2025

"I am so blessed to have this wonderful family. I always believed that anything worth doing is worth doing right, and it seems we did something right. Love you all."

These words, written by Lillian, reflect the core of her being - a woman who valued family, tradition, and living life with purpose. Our dear mother, grandmother, and friend has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Throughout her life, she imparted important lessons and traditions, and her influence will continue to resonate through the generations.

Lillian Alice Hess was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C.; her parents, Elsie and Francis F. Stahl; and her siblings, Francis O., Geraldine E, and Donald I. She is survived by her loving companion, Robert Bauman; her children, Stephen S. (Dolores), Thomas M. (Erica), Susan J. (Richard), and Janice Helwig (David); her grandchildren, Matthew Hess, Julie Worley, Lauren Gieseler, Stephanie Rambo, Peter Hess, Zachary and Tay Bomstein, Samuel and Cole Helwig; and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Nora Hess, Austin, Aubrey, and Emerson Worley, Stella and Connor Rambo, Brooks and Brynn Gieseler, and Theodore Bomstein.

Lillian was a hardworking and dedicated individual. She spent 25 years at American Olean Tile, including 15 years as a supervisor in the glaze department. Her sense of service extended beyond her professional life. Lillian devoted 23 years to Green Lane Borough Council, 15 years as a council member and 7 years as president, always striving to make her community a better place. She was a past president of the Perkiomen Valley Women's Club and an active member of Frieden's UCC, where she contributed to the choir, consistory stewardship committee, pulpit committee, endowment committee, and as a Sunday school teacher. Her service also extended to being a den mother, Upper Perkiomen Middle School parent mentor, and a volunteer at The Center at the Open Link community thrift shop and food pantry, as well as at Grand View Hospital. Beyond her commitment to service, she also loved to golf, bowl, play games, and spend time with family and friends.

Lillian's life was defined by her unwavering commitment to her family, faith, and community. Her selflessness, generosity, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
