Lewis J. “Bus” Gaul, Sr., 91, husband of Gladys A. (Brown) Gaul, Sr., of Boyertown, formerly of Green Lane, died June 29, 2011 at Manor Care, Pottstown. He and his wife celebrated 70 years of marriage on September 14, 2010.
Born in Colwyn, PA he was a son of the late George L. and Florence (Hight) Gaul.
He was a Consultant for SKF USA Inc. in Philadelphia for 38 years retiring in 1974.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Hiram Lodge #81 F&AM, Philadelphia.
Surviving along with his wife are three children, Gladys A., companion of William Jenkins of Sellersville, Lewis J. Gaul, Jr. and wife, Geraldine of Boyertown and Dennis G. Gaul of Mohnton; a brothers, John Gaul and wife, Joan of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a son, James H. Gaul and siblings, Florence, Lillian and George.
A funeral service was held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill. A viewing was held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening with a Masonic Funeral Service at 7:15 p.m. and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
