Lee Rose

February 23, 1967 — July 20, 2022

Lee H. (Whoop) Rose, 55, of Perkiomenville, PA, passed from this life into eternal life with Jesus on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospice Care in Allentown, PA. He was the beloved husband of Lori J. (Young) Rose, with whom he would have shared 30 years of marriage on August 22nd, and was the best girl dad to his daughter, Kylee S. Rose.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the fourth son of the late Leroy H. and Esther M. (Curry) Rose.

In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by two brothers, Michael and Ryan Rose; and is Uncle Whoop to several nieces and nephews, and grandnephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Terry and Randy Rose, and a nephew, Connor.

Lee was a 1985 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School, where he participated in the on-the-job training co-op program. He began a life of employment with John R. Young & Co. in 1984. First building and delivering sheds, followed by delivering fuels, motor oil, and packaged goods in tanker and box trucks, and later operating the lubricants bulk facility for many years. He was committed and dependable to both company and customers, never calling it a day until all the work was done. Having been raised on a farm, Lee from an early age established an impeccable work ethic. He diligently faced life with the same drive and determination. After 26 working years with Young’s, a physical disability brought on by a bout of cancer ended his career at the age of forty-three. The cancer was defeated, but he was challenged by many more complicated health battles over the remaining years. He courageously faced and dealt with each one and by the grace of God gave it his all to the very end.

He had a childlike love for antique tractors, especially the green ones. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, working outside, riding his Deere, beachcombing for hours collecting shells, and chillin’ to the sound of country or ‘80s music either on the deck or by the woodstove. On the weekends, when he wasn’t “pushing pedals and pulling sticks,” and “paving the way for others,” it was “5 o’clock somewhere,” and was always looking for someone to have a beer with him.

He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Obelisk and also attended Morning Star Fellowship in Bechtelsville.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Morning Star Fellowship, 100 Limekiln Rd, Bechtelsville, PA 19505. Family and friends may greet the family from 1:00 to 2:45 PM at the church, prior to the service.
