Lawrence Bauer

Lawrence H. Bauer, 88, husband of Marion Ruth (Booz) for 68 years, of Barto, PA, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Manor Care, Cedar Crest Blvd.

Born in Allentown, PA, he was a son of the late Edward and Alice M. (Tobin) Bauer.

He was a painter for Bethlehem Steel, Pottstown retiring in 1977 and also retired from the Borough of Bally in 1987.
He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally and was an active volunteer with many projects at Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Lawrence served in United States Army during World War II.

Surviving with his wife are children, Anna M. Miller of Boyertown, Carol A. Puhl and husband, Bob of Alburtis, Francis P. Bauer of Barto, Dorothy J. Davis and husband, Bill of Salem, NJ and Donald J. Bauer of Barto; two brothers, Leonard R. Bauer of Boyertown and Victor R. Bauer of Pottstown; a sister, Irene G. Urffer of Allentown; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Edward; three brothers, Thomas, Gerald, and Joseph Bauer; three sisters, Marie Kauffman, Margaret Bauer and Veronica Henry.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, PO Box C, Bally, PA 19503 with MSGR Edward J. Coyle officiating. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.
