Laverne H. Yost, 73, husband of Judy D. (Kline) Yost, of Green Lane, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital - Quakertown. He and his wife celebrated 49 years of marriage on November 14, 2013.
Born in Perkiomenville, he was a son of the late Earl and Sallie (Zepp) Yost.
He worked for 13 years in the Door Shop Department of Shelly Building Supply of Quakertown retiring in 2008.
Laverne was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sumneytown. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker and belonged to several area sporting clubs.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, JR Yost and wife, Jennifer of Red Hill; a sister, Margaret Hartzell of Perkiomenville and two grandchildren, Caleb and Charlotte Yost. He was predeceased by two siblings, Helen Yerger and Paul Yost.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA 18084 with Rev. Rebecca Eisenhart officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 am until 11 am Thursday at the church. Burial will be private.
