L. Anne (Wampole) Bonekemper, 69, wife of Dr. H. George Bonekemper, of Pennsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown.
Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of Florence (Frick) Wampole of Telford and the late Marvin Wampole.
She was a graduate of North Penn High School in Lansdale and of East Stroudsburg University.
Anne worked as a Health & Physical Education Teacher for the Souderton and Upper Perkiomen School Districts for over 25 years, retiring in 2008.
She was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill. Anne was active in the Relay for Life of Upper Perkiomen. She loved her family, bowling and Ocean City, MD.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband of 47 years, are two children, Wendy E., wife of Michael Hasara of Douglassville and Andrew W. and wife, Carrie of Collegeville; siblings, Evelyn, wife of John Urich of Souderton and Edward Wampole and wife, Chris of Silverdale, PA; grandsons, Zachary, Jacob, and expected twin grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and on Saturday from 9:00am until 10:45 am at the church.
