Kenneth L. Martin, 75, husband of Dolores R. (Goetz) Martin, of Hill Church Road, Boyertown, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. He and his wife celebrated 54 years of marriage on February 11th.
Born in Trumbauersville, PA, he was a son of the late Alfred and Lydia (Nace) Martin.
He was a Glass Worker at Artistic Glass, Trumbauersville for 12 years retiring in 1996. Prior to that he worked as a Fork Lift Operator at the former Firestone Tire & Rubber, Pottstown for 24 years.
He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Owls Nest #1302, East Greenville, the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association, the Bechtelsville Fire Company and the Topton American Legion. He enjoyed playing Fast Pitch Softball and was a pitcher for nearly 50 years in several church leagues and at the Eagle AA Field in Pennsburg.
Surviving along with his wife are 4 children, Debra L. Afflerbach and husband, Bruce of Allentown, Scott A. Martin of Hatfield, Dean C. Martin of Boyertown and Stacy Martin; a brother, Edward Martin of Quakertown; 2 sisters, Elsie Schaub and Shirley Erb, both of Trumbauersville; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Cremation services are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville was in charge of the arrangements. Visit mannslonakerfuneralhome.com to share memories and offer online condolences to the family.
