Kenneth C. Leister, 71, fiancé of Kathleen (Oswald) Leister Long, of East Greenville, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest.
Born in Hoppenville, he was a son of the late Forrest and Verna (Wolf) Leister.
He was employed as a forklift operator for Kraft Foods, retiring after 29 years.
Kenneth served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg and was a member of the American Legion, East Greenville and the Blue Spruce Riding Club, Alburtis.
Surviving are his children, Wendy, wife of James Barton, Barto; Robbie, wife of Mike Shaw, Wales, ME; Tracy, wife of Craig Himmelwright, Pennsburg; Mark Balascak and wife, Donna, Macungie; David Janderchick, Bally; Michael Janderchick and wife, Angie, Barto; siblings, Wilford Leister, Hoppenville and Dorothy, wife of Ralph Hunsberger, Jr., Green Lane; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Pearl Leister and Betty Boehm.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. There will be a viewing from 6:30 to 8pm on Thursday, February 20, 2014 and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
