Katharina Dickmann, formerly of Pennsburg died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale after recently celebrating her 100th birthday on August 2nd.
Born in Filipovo, Austria-Hungary, she was one of twelve children of the late Stefan and Katharina (Willmann) Dickmann.
She was an expert seamstress and worked for Alfred Angelo Wedding Designer before retiring in 1974.
She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg, the Danube Swabian Association of Philadelphia and the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center.
She enjoyed making dolls and costumes from the era of the day and also loved gardening vegetables, her sheep and chickens on the farm and baking. She was a caregiver to all and cared for and about people her entire 100 years.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Rosemarie, wife of Pete Greskoff of Paoli, Adam Dickmann, Jr. of Pennsburg, Tony Dickmann and wife, Maryann of Lansdale and Joseph, Dickmann and wife, Jen Teichman of Chardon, Ohio; five great grandchildren, Julie and Michael Dickmann of Lansdale and Peter, Kathryn and Matthew Greskoff of Paoli and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she is predeceased by her son, Adam Dickmann, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Maria Dickmann.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her memory to The Danube Swabian Foundation USA, 710 North Carlyle Lane, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
