Joyce K. (Harpel) Imbody, 91, widow of Curtis B. Imbody, Sr., formerly of Perkiomenville, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Perkiomenville, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Eva (Gerhart) Harpel.
She was a seamstress for many years at the former Rosenau Manufacturing Co. in Red Hill retiring after many years. Prior to that she also worked for many years at the former Daut Manufacturing Company.
Joyce was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Red Hill Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed making crafts and sewing.
Surviving is a son, Curtis “Sonny” Imbody, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Perkiomenville; daughters, Betty J. Guinther and husband, Earl of Boyertown, Linda M. Hoffman and husband, Eugene of Perkiomenville and Cindy S. Brudke of Boyertown; daughter-in-law, Faye Imbody of Bechtelsville; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a son, Larry J. “Butch” Imbody; brothers, Franklin, John and Kenneth Harpel and sisters, Arlene Green and Loretta Hartenstine.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at New Goshenhoppen U.C.C., 1070 Church Rd. East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 until 11 am Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery.
