Joseph F. Snell, 82, of Coopersburg and formerly of Green Lane, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Woodland Terrace at the Oaks, Allentown. He was the husband of Joan F. (Keiper) Snell celebrating 60 years of marriage on May 25th.
Born in Lehighton, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph F. and Jennie I. (DeRoach) Snell.
Joseph was a 1949 graduate of Lehighton High School. He worked as a material handler for Merck for 27 years retiring in 1992.
He was a member Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Sumneytown where he was a past consistory member and president, a life member of Lehighton American legion Post # 314 and a former little league baseball coach for many years.
Surviving along with his wife are two sons, James J. Snell and wife, Anne A. of Coopersburg and Mike D. Snell and wife, Sharon L. of Green Lane; a sister, Ethel Miller of Jim Thorpe; four grandchildren, Zachery Snell and wife, Jen, twins, Kristin and Ashley Snell and Nicholas Snell.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Cheryl A. Stoneback officiating. Burial follows in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
