Joseph J. Sciacca, 92, of Frederick Mennonite Community, formerly of Schwenksville died May 7, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of Caroline J. (Wilt) Sciacca celebrating 57 years of marriage in May, 2010.
Born in Montgomeryville, he was a son of the late Rosario and Anna (Grasso) Sciacca.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific.
He worked at Andale Company for many years in the shipping, receiving and maintenance departments retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary’s Delphi Catholic Church in Spring Mount and enjoyed traveling and loved his family.
Surviving along with his wife are four children, Joseph R. Sciacca and wife, Karen of Pennsburg, Marie A. North and husband, Paul, Jr. of Allentown, JoAnn F. Smith of Petersburg and Nancy H. Heil and husband, Gary of Zieglerville; a brother, Harry Sciacca of Lansdale; a niece; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred and a sister, Anna O’ Neill.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frederick Mennonite Community, 2849 Big Road, Frederick. Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
A private burial will be held.
