Joseph B. Hennesy, 71, of Pottstown, died February 11, 2012 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Donna (McAlpine) Hennesy celebrating 26 years of marriage on February 14th.
Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Joseph C. and Anna (Buckley) Hennesy.
He was a Veteran of the Army 82nd Airborne and a 1958 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He worked as a Lineman and then Troubleman for PECO for 32 years retiring in 1995, but also enjoyed working on his home, yard, and woodworking.
Surviving along with his wife are three sons, Jeffrey Hennesy and wife, Lisa of Birdsboro, Michael Hennesy of Lansdale and Craig Hennesy and wife, Christine of Spring City; two step-sons, Thomas R. John, Jr. and wife, Robin of Fitchburg, MA, and Randy L. John of Middleburg, FL; siblings, Mark Hennesy and wife, Susan of Phoenixville and Karen Hennesy of Toronto, Canada; 3 grandchildren, Mick, Michael, and Aibhlinn Hennesy and 2 step-grandchildren Timothy and Zachary John.
A viewing will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. A private burial will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Cemetery. Share memories and offer condolences to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
