John T. Walsh, 93, of Wellington Way, Red Hill, PA, formerly of North Philadelphia, PA, died on Dec. 26, 2010 in his home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Michael and Jennie Walsh.
He was a truck driver for Canada Dry in Philadelphia for over 25 years retiring in 1981.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy service in World War II.
He was a Past President of the Paradise Golf Association, a member of the American Legion Paradise Post #788 and an avid golfer, card player, horseracer and Phillies fan.
He was the beloved father of Janet Ciampaglia and her husband, Ralph of Red Hill, with whom he residsed and John Walsh and his wife, Linda of Las Vegas, NV; beloved grandfather of Peter Didonato and wife, Brenda, Jason Didonato, Erick Didonato and wife, Chrissy, Dawn Walsh and J.J. Walsh and wife, Kim; beloved great grandfather of 3 great grandchildren; and beloved uncle of several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Thomas and Jane Mollica and a brother, Ted Walsh.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA with Rev. Raymond Smart officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham with Rev. Joseph Okonski officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at 10 a.m. at church.
