John F. Strouse, Jr., 87, of Perkiomenville, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA. He was the loving husband of Roberta L. (Hartman) Strouse, with whom he spent 67 years of marriage.
Born in Harmonville, PA, he was the son of the late John F. and Frances (Weber) Strouse, Sr.
John was an Upper Merion High School graduate and attended both St. Joseph’s University and Villanova University. He was a Biologist for 35 years, retiring from Merck Sharpe & Dohme.
He loved his home, family and his farm. He was known by family and friends as a “frustrated farmer”. He loved animals and they loved him. He was so kind but he didn’t listen. Apparently, you can tell a German, you just can’t tell them much.
Surviving along with his wife, are his five children: Eric Strouse, Sandra Fredericks and Bryan McCrone,, Mark Strouse and wife, Beth, Jennifer Moorehead and husband, Rob and Kurt Strouse and wife, Janina; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Dolores Gifford and Jean Degler.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Keelor’s Cemetery (St. Luke’s Lutheran Church) 3206 Big Rd, Zieglerville, PA 19492.
