John Soffa

April 19, 1918 — November 2, 2011

John E. Soffa, Sr., 93, husband of Geraldine F. (Eppler) Soffa, of Taggart Road, East Greenville, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 on the way to the hospital in Washington DC. He and his wife celebrated 53 years of marriage on May 24th.

Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Ivan) Soffa.

He was employed as a molder for Stanley G. Flagg Company in Stowe for 35 years retiring in 1980.

He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force serving in both World War II and Korea.

He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and a life member of the Pennsburg Fire Company. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, two children, John E. Soffa, Jr. of Pennsburg and Annette D. Soffa of Sellersville and his grandson, Raymond J. Passante. Along with his parents he is predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
