John Henry

January 24, 1930 — July 13, 2012

John T. Henry, 82, of Oley, died on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City.

Born in Clayton, he was a son of the late Leo and Anna (Yerger) Henry.

He was an auto mechanic for most of his life retiring in 2004 and a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea.

He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church; a life member of Pike Twp. Sportsman’s Association and member of Boyertown Hook and Ladder and Bally Fire Company.

Surviving are brothers, Thomas A. Henry of Pennsburg, Irvin P. “Butch” Henry and wife, Rena of Oley and Andrew M. Henry and wife, Walli of East Greenville; sisters, Veronica, wife of Victor Diehl of East Greenville, Helen Gensel of Woodbine, MD and Pauline, wife of Donald Leister of Muncy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Luke, Leonard, Sr., Martin, Alphonsus, Maurice, Walter, Raymond, William and George.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally. Burial follows in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St. East Greenville and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at church.
