John W. Hartenstine, 67, husband of Phyllis E. (Moser) Hartenstine, of Barto, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Florence Elsie (Machemer) Hartenstine.
He worked as a weaver for over 20 years at Mutual Industries of Red Hill and most recently as an office cleaner for DTZ contracted by Knoll’s.
He attended Christ Lutheran Church of Barto.
John served in the United State Army during Vietnam.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years, are 3 children, Bonnie C. Hartenstine of Bechtelsville; Tina A. Hartenstine of Barto, and Melissa D. Hartenstine of Barto; sister, Rebecca A, wife of James Lesher of Palm; two grandchildren, Charles and Bree. He was predeceased by two children, Thomas L. Hartenstine and Betty M. Patt.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, PA 19504. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Saturday at the church. Burial will be private in Christ Union Cemetery, Niantic.
