John A. Dzurenda, 82, husband of Mary Jane (Bardman) Dzurenda, of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Born in Upper Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late August and Johanna (Rusnock) Dzurenda.
He was a 1950 Graduate of the former Pennsburg High School the served in the U.S. Army in Korea.
He was employed as the Chauffer for the President of PPL in Allentown for 22 years retiring in 1994. Prior, he worked as an Expeditor in the Engineering Department of Link Belt Company in Colmar and an insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #184 in East Greenville and the Bunnell Run Hunting Club in Lycoming County.
Surviving along with his wife of 50 years this May, are two brothers, Michael Dzurenda of Austin, TX and Joseph Dzurenda and wife, Anne of Haddenfield, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Dzurenda) Garis; a brother, Thomas A. Dzurenda and three infant brothers, August, John and George.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the mass.
