John J. Cianci, 88, of Reading, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Keystone Villa of Fleetwood. He was the loving husband of the late Grace R. (Nester) Cianci.
Born in Conshohocken, PA he was the son of the late Adam and Sarah “Sadie” (Pagliaro) Cianci.
John was a veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force. He was the Area Supervisor in Air Traffic Control for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was also in the Federal Aviation Administration for 19 years in Reading, PA and prior to that, in Erie and Philadelphia, PA, JFK, New York and Oklahoma City, OK.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sumneytown and life member of the American Legion Post 0635 in Shillington.
He is survived by three children, Terrance J. Cianci and wife, Karen, Stephen J. Cianci and companion Taz and Jennifer Ann Cianci; four step children, Kimberly R. Snyder, Leslie R. Snyder, Christopher R. Snyder and wife, Tamara and Scott R. Snyder and wife, Kristin; six grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 11, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main St., Green Lane, PA 18054 with a burial following in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12 PM to 12:45 PM . Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
