Joan Patricia (Barr) Jurgelewicz, 74, wife of Bernard J. Jurgelewicz, of Red Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at home. Bernard and Joan were married on September 17, 1960 and would be celebrating 53 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Florence (Smith) Barr.

Joan was employed as a production worker for Keystone Transformer and Plummer Optics of Pennsburg.

She was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Pennsburg. Joan loved to take bus trips with friends to the Casinos. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, puzzle books, crocheting, the Phillies and most of all loved being around her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her husband and children, Michael Jurgelwicz and his wife, Stephanie of Pennsburg; Lisa, wife of Ronald Berryman of Green Lane and Theresa, wife of Thomas Devine of Red Hill; brothers, David Barr of Mt. Carmel and George Barr of Little Marsh; sister, Violet, wife of Carl Haxel of Levittown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Horace Barr and sisters, Ethel Bird and Clara Cameron.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on at the funeral home.
