Joan E. (Blattner) Diehl, 87, widow of Gerald R. Diehl, Sr., of Pennsburg, formerly of Federalsburg, MD, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Grand View Hospital with her son Jerry and daughter-in-law Dottie by her side.
Born in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Leon Blattner and M. Virginia (Fryer).
Joan was a seamstress for many years at Landis in Telford before retiring to Maryland with her husband.
She loved reading and watching the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was also an avid scrabble player; enjoying scrabble tournaments with her daughter-in-law, Dottie.
Surviving are her three children, James DuBois of Kunkletown, PA, Patti DuBois of Tucson, AZ and Gerald Diehl, Jr and wife, Dottie of Pennsburg, PA; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, John Blattner of Trappe, PA; and a sister, Virginia Jodon of White Stone, VA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a daughter, Janette McCloskey; brother, Robert Blattner; a sister, Claire Brown; and a great-grandson.
