Joan V. Bearrows
Joan Vera (Fay) Bearrows, 62, wife of Donald Lee of East
Greenville, passed away on Friday, June 18th in her residence. She
and her husband would be celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary on August 30th.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Joan H. (Callow)
Fay and the late Roy Fay.
After graduating from Franklin School of Arts and Sciences, she
worked as a medical secretary in numerous places before finally retiring in 2004.
She was incredibly smart, well read and interested in a variety
of things that she would research until she was practically an expert. She shared her knowledge, her love, and her creative talents with all who knew her, but especially her children and grandchildren. Joan put everyone's needs before her own and her accepting nature made her easy to love and hard to be without. She was a deeply spiritual person who lived to share her scriptural knowledge with others she met. She loved her God, Jehovah, who she served faithfully for over 33 years. Her hope is to see all whom she loved in the resurrection he promised. She generously donated her remains to science in the hope that by studying her, someone else might be spared the debilitating disease of ALS which she endured for 6 long years.
Her mother Joan for whom she is named, her husband Don, her 3 children Sharon Elizabeth, Michael David, and Larissa; and her 2 grandchildren Kristine and Angelo will miss her terribly while carrying with them all the wisdom, love and talent she so graciously passed on to them.
A Memorial Service was held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at
Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
