Jeanette S. (Bartman) Duka, 88 years old, formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Souderton Mennonite Home where she had been residing. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Duka, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage before his passing in September of 2022.
Born in Sellersville, she was the only child of Charles R. and Rita M. (Miller) Bartman.
Jeanette was a 1952 graduate of East Greenville High School. She had a 40-year-long career as a real estate agent mostly at Brode & Brooks Relators in Pennsburg. Prior to that, she worked in administration for the Upper Perkiomen School District.
Her passion for helping people throughout the community was only eclipsed by her love of family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a lover of the beach, a good Bob Marley tune, black coffee in the pool, and a pain in de ass from Seacrets.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Michael Duka of Pennsburg, Teresa DeBias and husband, Dennis of Collegeville and Matthew Duka and wife, Jennifer of Green Lane; seven grandchildren, Todd, Kristin, Rachel and husband, Samuel, David, Shae, Boris and Malachi; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Aurora.
She is predeceased by a daughter, Christina Duka and a grandson, Ezra Duka.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with a burial following in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9 AM to 10:45 AM prior to mass. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.
