Jeanette C. (Herbert) Bowyer, 81 of Pennsburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving, devoted wife of Howard Thomas Bowyer, sharing almost 60 years of marriage together.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mable (Kuchs) Herbert.
Jeanette was a graduate of Franklin High School in Philadelphia and attended classes at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. More recently, she completed classes and earned a certification as a Holistic Health Counselor. After marrying Howard (Tom) in 1963, she was employed over the years at Red Hill Savings and Loan, Union National Bank, Youth and Family Services, and served as the Vice President and secretary for T & L Electric Inc, the family business.
She was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, a former member of the Upper Perkiomen BPW and enjoyed volunteering at Marlborough Elementary School’s Reading program. Jeannie enjoyed spending time traveling with Tom and together through the years, they ventured to the Pocono Mountains, Cape May Courthouse, Florida, The Bahamas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Jamaica, Germany and Austria. She also liked painting and drawing, nature and bird watching, gardening, and was always up for a good political discussion, but she most cherished spending time with Tom, and her children and grandchildren. She always put others ahead of her own needs, and would try to help anyone who needed it, any way she could.
Surviving, along with her husband are her two children, Jay Bowyer and wife Jennifer Hoffman Bowyer of Barto, and Natalie Bowyer McCormick and husband Robert McCormick of Bechtelsville, and two grandsons, Benjamin McCormick and Kyle McCormick. She is pre deceased by two sisters.
