Jean K. (Schott) Shaner, 90, widow of Walter H. Shaner, of Oley and formerly of Barto, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the home of her granddaughter, Tracy Kemp-Schittler and her husband, Steven Schittler where she resided.
Born in East Greenville, PA she was a daughter of the late Warren H. and Dorothy (Kranzley) Schott.
She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a member of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis, PA where her and her late husband were groundskeepers of the cemetery for many years. She loved crocheting, puzzles, word search and spending time with family.
She will be sadly missed by her children, David W. Shaner and wife, Rhoda of Barto, PA; Terry L. Shaner and wife, Darlene of Red Hill, PA and Joann, wife of Harold Kemp of Oley, PA; siblings, Warren S. Schott of Barto and Grace Gilbert, of Boyertown, PA; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol J. Shaner.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St, East Greenville, PA with the Rev. Jane Kropa officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral. Burial will be in Huff’s Church Cemetery, Alburtis, PA.
