Jean Haas

November 28, 1937 — December 7, 2018

Jean L. (Schultz) Haas, 81, widow of Melvin Haas, of Bechtelsville, passed away peacefully on
December 6, 2018 in her home.

Born in Hereford, she was the daughter of the late Melvin C. and Dorothy A. (Berger) Schultz.

Jean was a graduate of East Greenville High School and was employed at Bally Case and Cooler as a
secretary for many years. She also worked at the Boyertown Body works as a switchboard operator
and retired from driving a Rosenberger Dairies’ tank truck.

She was actively involved in church and charitable activities at the Bethany EC Church, Barto and the
Pentecostal Revival Center in Westfield.

She had a lifelong passion for horses and was active in local riding clubs.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Dawn Derr; two grandsons, Brandon and Kenneth Derr; and her four
brothers, Gary Schultz and wife, Judith, Terry Schultz, Melvin Schultz, Jr. and Jeffrey Schultz.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Brian Derr.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on December 12 at Mann-Slonaker, Funeral Home, 222
Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to
11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the services. Offer sympathy to the family at
