Jay H. Kugler, 85, formerly of Gilbertsville, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown. He was the loving husband of the late Elaine (Grime) Kugler.
Born in Limerick, PA, he was the son of the late John R. and Agnes (Miller) Kugler.
Jay was an Equipment Maintenance Technician for AT&T for 30 years before retiring. Upon retirement, he became a self-employed skilled wood worker; spending time in his workshop working on projects for those that called him. He has pieces on display at his church, Shepherd of the Hills, and in the homes of his family and friends.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter, enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Elaine, family game nights, a glass of wine and loved to laugh.
Jay was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Calvary Chapel in Bechtelsville, where he was in charge of the soundboard for many years, and also active in the Limerick Historical Society.
Surviving are his two children: Robin Kugler and Lori, wife of Jeff Wagner; three step-children: Renee, wife of John Miller, Carol Brusch, widow of Jim Hoff, and Karl Baas; two grandchildren: Collin and Jaimi Wagner; two step-grandchildren: Jordan and Joshua Miller; and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by siblings, Jake Trinley, John Kugler, Jr., Lorraine Mowrer and Aleene Ciorrocco.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in Limerick Garden of Memories.
