James R. Zepp, 75, husband of Phyllis E. (Knisley) Zepp for 56 years, of Green Lane, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Hoppenville, Montgomery County, PA, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Maggie (Harpel) Zepp.
He worked as a Kiln Fireman at American Olean Tile in Lansdale, where he retired after 42 years and later at Penn Color, Hatfield, where he worked as a production operator for several years.
James was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown, where he served on the kitchen and cemetery committees. He was a former Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, and was a life member of the Green Lane Fire Company, where he served as a fireman.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are sons, Michael J. Zepp and wife, Katrina, Roanoke, VA; Mark J. Zepp and wife, Laura, Lansdale; daughter, Kathy D. Zepp, Green Lane; sisters, Doris Brendlinger, Frederick; Grace Schultz, Red Hill and Jane, wife of Robert Wetzel, Boyertown; brother, Charles E. Zepp and wife, Agnes, Pennsburg; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Sara Stevens, Margaret Marks, and Blanche Fries.
