James F. Smith, Sr., 78, of Pennsburg, died on Friday, November 23, 2012 in his home. He was the husband of Anna Pearl (Lichty) Smith celebrating 58 years of marriage on June 26, 2012.
Born in Red Hill, he was a son of the late Frederick O. and Louisa R. (Kulp) Smith.
He was employed as a Die Cast Technician at Doehler Jarvis in Stowe for 34 years retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Community Fish and Game Association in Macungie and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving along with his wife are four children, Judy P. Sell of Millsboro, DE, James F. Smith, Jr. and wife, Connie of Macungie, Barbara J. Smith-Morlock, wife of Robert Dolga of Dover, DE and Brenda M. Pritchard of Boyertown; two brothers, Frank H. Smith of Green Lane and Willard T. Smith and wife, Naomi of Red Hill; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Along with his parents he is predeceased by a son, Audie J. Smith.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. James Roth officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial is private.
