J. Laurine Cleaver, 91, formerly of Palm, died on June 13, 2018. She was the wife of the late Oliver L. Cleaver; the couple had been married for 65 years.
Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Henry Merrit and Sylvia C. (Landis) Bartholomew.
She was a 1945 graduate of East Greenville High School and a communication graduate from the Central Radio and Television School, Kansas City, MO. She worked for TWA Airlines at LaGuardia Field, NY and later worked for Burroughs Adding Machine Co. Philadelphia. She also worked for Cleaver, Inc. retiring in 1973. She and her husband operated several seashore rental properties in Wildwood Crest, NJ.
June was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, the former Upper Perkiomen Senior Center and the Golden Agers.
Surviving are her sons, Gary Cleaver and wife, Christine of Easton and Keith Cleaver and wife, Eileen of Allentown; three grandchildren, Kyle Cleaver and wife, Caitlin, Amanda, wife of Carl Schumacher, Jr. and Brian Cleaver and wife, Alicia; and three great-grandchildren, Declan, Ronan and Liam.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker, Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Charles E. Romanowski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hill. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 to 12 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
