Ivy H. (Mest) Swavely, 99, widow of Calvin T. Swavely, of Schwenksville, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Huff’s Church, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Kate (Hoffman) Mest.

She was a lifelong member of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis and she loved crocheting and feeding her birds.

Surviving are her children, Leon Swavely and his wife, Dorothy of Barto and Joan, widow of James Benfield of Schwenksville and friend of Charles Rhoads of Barto; 10 grandchildren, Deborah, Jeffrey, Michael, Cynthia, Michelle, Nichole, Christine, Mark, Timothy and Karen; 17 great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, Brian, Jennifer, Joshua, Rachel, Katherine, Michael, Peter, Julia, Ashley, Amber, Kyle, Amanda, Tom, Adam and Alyson; and 7 great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, Mackenzie, Gage, Abigail, Jacob and Bennett. She was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Jane Kropa There will be a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huff’s Church Cemetery, Alburtis.
