Irene G. (Bauer) Urffer, 85, widow of Carlton Urffer, of Allentown and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at home.
Born in Bally, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Alice Bauer.
Irene worked for 40 years at the former Pillsbury Baking Company, until her retirement in 1994.
She was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Pennsburg.
Surviving are two children, David Urffer and wife, Lisa of Canton, GA, and Christine, wife of Michael Erb of East Greenville; brothers, Leonard Bauer and wife, Jeanette of Boyertown and Victor Bauer and wife, Pearl of Pottstown; four grandchildren, Alexander Urffer, Daniel Erb and wife, Helece, Steven Erb and wife, Juliet, and Amanda, wife of Andrew Ward; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jillian Erb, and Gavin Ward. She was pre-deceased by seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA, with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery of Pennsburg. There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.
