Irene A. (Fetterman) Machemer, 94, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 9, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Yeager) Fetterman.
She was a 1935 graduate of Tamaqua High School and retired in 1982 from Lehigh Frocks, Nazareth after working many years as a seamstress, floor lady and previously at several Bethlehem area garment factories.
She was a member of Trinity UCC, Bethlehem and an active volunteer with many church groups.
Survivors: Children, Jane I., wife of Donald A. “Peck” Edmonds, Sr. of Coopersburg, Richard M. Machemer and wife, Patricia A. of Pulaski, NY and Thomas W. Machemer and wife, Bonita J. of Inverness, FL; brother, Harry Fetterman of Tamaqua; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren. A
daughter, Nancy L. Lay and a brother and several sisters predeceased her.
