Irella C. (Bright) Baver, 84, widow of Charles D. Baver, of Franconia, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville.
Born in Shelly, PA she was a daughter of the late Ralph A. and Meda (Wimmer) Bright.
Irella and her husband met in 1950 while she was working as a waitress at Charlie’s Bridge Street Restaurant in Spring City. They moved to California in 1960 where they owned and operated several restaurants and bars (Blarney’s Lounge in Alameda) until 1983 when they semi-retired to Arizona before returning to Pennsylvania in 1993.
She is a former member and Past Matron of Manzanita Chapter #342 Order of Eastern Star, Morgan Hill, CA and Sunrise Chapter #60 OES, Bullhead City, AZ and a member of Faith Chapter #444 OES, Boyertown.
Surviving are her sons, Kevin D. Baver and fiancée, Mary Ann Esch (Pfahler) and his children, Mary and William (children of Jeanie D. Baver (Bosak) of California) of Franconia and Brian J. Baver and wife, Denise and their son, Mason of Las Vegas, NV; step-children, Paul E. Baver of Reading, Charles A. Baver of Linfield, and Patricia A. Stuck of Cornallis, OR; brothers, Kermit N. Bright of Jensen Beach, FL, and Durrell C. Bright and wife, Francis of Fort Pierce, FL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Sterling, Meryl, Truman and Clarence Bright.
Irella was a dedicated mother and loving grand-mother who spent her retirement traveling throughout the country visiting family and friends. She continually spread charity and support to the lives she touched and will always be remembered for her endless passion, laughter and love. Mom will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Robert Gerhart officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Offer words of comfort to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com. A gathering of family and friends will follow in Franconia after the memorial service. Attendees are asked to bring food dish.
